23rd August

Today I went with my family and Toni to Guadalest, a mountaintop village not far from Benidorm. Here I captured establishing shots of the mountains and Spanish architecture for the instrumental after the first hook of the track. There were a lot of people wandering about, so it was difficult to compose my shots at times, and took a lot of patience to capture the footage I needed.

My plan was ready, my alarm was set (for an ungodly hour when you’re supposed to be on holiday), and I went to sleep (fairly) early. When I woke up this morning I realised I had overslept whilst Toni had woken up at 6am to get ready. Now she’s saying she isn’t helping me anymore so I now need to convince her to be in my music video again and try again tomorrow morning.
I did however capture a time-lapse of the sunset this evening. I am going to set the camera and tripod up on the patio each evening and then by the end of the week I should have a selection of shots to use.

I woke up on time this morning, thanks to about 10 alarms! We arrived at the beach just before 7am and captured all the shots needed for the first verse and first hook. I then decided that as we had time to spare I should begin capturing some of the water shots for the bridge and final chorus. When we got back to the villa we looked through the shots I had captured and together decided if any of the footage needed reshooting.

27th August

We were back at the beach again for 7am for the second day of shooting. Today I captured shots for the second hook, and then planned to capture water shots for the bridge and final hook. First though I made the decision to capture some pick up shots from yesterday that I wasn’t satisfied with, as we won’t have another chance to go to the beach. After this I then managed to film the rest of the shots I needed from this location before the beach got too crowded.
I finally got a lie in this morning! After a relaxed day by the pool, we went to the secondary location along a coastal road just before 5pm. Here I needed to fill the gaps in my timeline, which included the second verse and second hook. I also used this opportunity to film my master shot; an extreme close up of Toni lip syncing to the camera.
With all my filming now complete, I am going to review all of my footage again and look for anything that needs to be reshot, but I think I do have enough to make an impressive cut of my music video.
