Equipment List
Canon 700D SLR Camera
I am using the highest quality camera available to me to film my music video. As well as being highly portable, it is also simple to change over the lenses and filters. As well as this, I can easily adjust the aperture and ISO whilst filming to allow for the correct depth of field and lighting respectively.
Tripod (with Extendable Monopod)
The tripod will mainly be used for stabilising my static shots, but also to shoot pans and tilts. I will need to use a tripod to film a time-lapse of the sunset as the camera will need be static for a longer period of time to capture a high quality shot.
I am going to take two lenses with me for filming my music video. The first is an 18-55mm wide lens to capture shots of the environment and mid shots of the subject. I will use the 55-250mm, also known as a ‘zoom lens’, to capture close ups of the subject lip-syncing and performing. I will also use this lens for the time-lapse because it’ll allow me to compose the shot using the rule of thirds more accurately than I would be able to with the wide lens.
Lenses (18-55mm, 55-250mm)
I am going to attach a polarising filter onto the end of the lenses when I film my footage. Because I am filming in Spain, the sun is goingto be extremely bright at almost all times, which is likely to cause lighting issues when on location. The polarising filter reduces the brightness of light coming through the lens which in turn will capture shots of better quality. I will also need to use this lens when capturing the time-lapse as the camera will be pointed directly at the sun which would significantly reduce the quality of the shot.

Battery (x2)
I am going to take two batteries using one as a spare. Because of the limited time I am going to be abroad, I am not going to have time to reshoot certain scenes if the battery runs out during a shoot. I will keep one spare battery charged at all times in case of an emergency like this.
SD Card (x3)
Again due to the time restrictions I will face, I am going to need to gather a large variety of shots very quickly, and will not have a chance to reshoot anything. By taking multiple SD Cards with a high memory capacity, I can be almost certain that I will not run out of storage during my shoots. Also, to film the time-lapse rather than capture images on a timer, I will need to be filming for between 30 minutes and an hour to capture the dramatic change in light and atmosphere. This will take up an enormous amount of memory, so I need to be prepared to quickly stop recording and switch cards if needed, so it is not noticeable in the edited footage.
