Focus Group

The participants mostly agreed with and supported my own plan, but also each made some minor suggestions to enhance the production.
These are the points picked out from my focus group:

Location:

Empty beach or near a body of water.
The mountains give an "empowering" feel when accompanied by the track.

Costume:

I will capture shots of the subject both with and without the sunglasses and later decide which looks the best.

Themes and Lyrics:

The participants suggested that the song suggests a theme of struggle and desperation, which is what I am hoping to achieve.

Props:

Rather than a polaroid photograph, I could use a locket with a picture of the subject and her ex partner inside.
The subject could throw it into the sea and it could later be shown washed up onto the shoreline.

My Notes

My notes had descriptions of locations to present to the focus group so I could explain to them the uses for each setting.

I used my planning on Mise-En-Scene, Target Audience, and Representation from this portfolio for my presentation.
The booklet for the participants of this focus group showed images only, so I was able to present my ideas first hand. I also chose to do this because it would allow the participants to give useful feedback, rather than solely agree to my initial plan.
