Digipak Idea Generation

Concept

I am going to create a digipak for the LP album 'Death Valley' which includes the single 'Muddy Waters'. To do this, I will use a template with six panels to make it true to real media digipaks. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I could not complete a photoshoot with the person who posed as my artist for the production of my music video, so I am going to use screenshots from my video and create panels from them. This will also create synergy between the main product and this ancillary product.

Initial Idea

I am going to use an image of the artist on the front cover, so consumers will instantly know who's music is on sale. This will also include the album title 'Death Valley' as well as the name of the artist. I will have the track list on the back cover alongside another memorable still from the music video, possibly of the sunrise or sunset. It will also be important to include legal information at the bottom of this panel to create a link with real media texts.

I have decided to include a panoramic image in my digipak as this is uncommon but will look very aesthetically pleasing if implemented right. At this stage I am planning to use an image of the mountains in Guadalest, although this may change if my initial plan does not work. I know that I want to use an image of the sea behind my disk to add the element of 'Muddy Waters' to my digipak and create a clear link between my music video and digipak.

On the disk I am going to use an image of the artist's lips from my music video as this is another memorable piece of iconography that the audience will associate with my main product. I am also going to use the additional panel to add another image of the artist as many real world stars include a panel exclusive artwork within their digipaks. I may also use this additional panel as a place to write contextual information, or display another image of nature to build a 'Death Valley' concept or location.
